Four day tennis clinic, instructor is TBA
Open to girls entering grades 6 to 10 at any school. The clinic is held at the St. John’s Prep Tennis Court Complex, home of the St. John’s Prep varsity tennis team. The complex is equipped with five hard surface tennis courts, with multiple ball cages.
The clinic is designed to develop tennis fundamentals in a competitive and fun environment. Players of all ability levels will be challenged in a variety of traditional and progressive drills that aim to develop the individual players skills and understanding of the game. The staff, made up of the most well-respected local coaches, incorporate drills which they use at their own practices to help prepare players for the next level.
Sessions will include instruction and focus on fundamental development in the areas of forehanded/backhanded swinging, racquet grip, serving, receiving, and speed/agility skills. Athletes will also be able to demonstrate their learned skills through fun and competitive half court and full court drills, as well as match play.
Entering 6th – 9th Grade:
This sub-group of the program caters toward athletes who are looking to sharpen their individual skills and knowledge of the game in preparation for their club or high school tennis seasons. Athletes are pushed further through traditional and progressive drills that aim to develop each players individual and positional skills. Athletes will be trained and instructed by some of the most-respected high school and college coaches in the area.
