This course offers a full year of geometry for the student who wishes to complete geometry in the summer in order to advance to algebra 2 the following fall. This course is condensed into 36 hours of instruction and demands the full dedication and commitment of the student.
Substantial work must be completed outside of class time in order to master the necessary topics. To take this course, students are required to have completed a full year of algebra 1. An exam will be administered at the end of the class. Students will receive a grade, however, no credits will be assigned.
This class is intended either as an introduction to Algebra 2 (or Geometry) or as a refresher. For students wishing to replace their year long class with a summer class, we highly recommend our 60 hour class. We suggest that each student discuss these options with their guidance counselor and department chair to make sure this class is consistent with your academic goals
For students who do not attend St. John’s, a certificate will be mailed to their school showing the attendance record and final exam grade. Students are required to have a graphing calculator.
This class is scheduled to meet in a classroom, but may move to an online platform if needed.Enroll Now
