CIT PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Counselor in Training program (CIT) is a hands-on leadership program designed for high school students looking to gain professional experiences through working with young children and adults. The CIT’s are under the mentorship of a director and lead counselor as they progress through the program. CIT’s will be able to experience, first-hand, the roles and responsibilities of acting as a counselor for campers. Additionally, they will participate in weekly seminars that will serve as a foundation for working in a camp and professional environment.

Do you want to make a difference with the younger campers on camp?  Learn some great leadership skills, and have some fun while doing it?  Join our Counselor in Training program- spend part of your day learning skills that you can use on camp and in real life.  First Aid, behavior management, public speaking, teambuilding- you will work closely with your cohort to learn marketable skills.  Another part of the day you’ll work with campers in groups- with the support of our amazing staff, you’ll apply what you have learned in the field! Plus- field trips, and fun! CIT candidates must be at least 13 years old, and entering Grade 8 or higher in the fall.  Next year, we will offer a CIT 2 progam- in order to be eligible for that, you must have completed at least two sessions (four weeks) of CIT.
